Travels galore

Home sweet home! My was Washington sweet, though!

We spent the first 3 days with our friends who are working at a ranch on the east side of the Cascades. We canoed, hiked, relaxed, and cooked out.

Rainbow!

A fox pup!

I ate well. French bakery style!

Ferry to Port Townsend. I mean, I took this while we were on the ferry. :-) The ferry wasn’t a purple sailboat.

The vibrant green, glacier-fed Diablo Lake.

We made our way to Olympic Nat’l Park and backpacked a few nights.

Seattle was also a blast with its pro soccer team, farmers markets, and beautiful parks. Now that I’m home I had the chance to work on the Etsy shop. Here is a preview!

A super soft stripy tee.

A super classy and curve hugging wiggle dress.

Cheers, yall!

With love and squalor

I’m pleased to announce that we are prepping for a little vacation to the West Coast!!

I’m so very excited to visit Washington because I’ve never been there. We are flying into Seattle! We have a few stops planned so far, but several gaps will be filled in. :-) If any of you have recommendations – please share!!

I’m really excited to have less humidity (fingers crossed!) and to go to a professional soccer game! We are going to spend plenty of time in the gorgeous outdoors with friends who work at a ranch in the central part of the state!

Meanwhile, I’ve been burning through farm-fresh zucchini as fast as I can.

Homemade tomato sauce went into this bad boy. I keep whole wheat lasagna noodles at all times in my pantry. Instead of layering on ricotta, I just stuck to a bubbly layer of mozzarella on the top. The veggies (eggplant and zucchini), basil, and leeks gave it a strong flavor profile! I think basic lasagnas can be improvised for any season! No recipe required.

Over at Thrifted Sister we’ve posted a darling bathing suit from the 70s. I love the deep v-neck, flattering cut, and the flirty tie. We were featured on the Etsy blog this week for another one of our suits, which caused our views to skyrocket! It was so exciting. I have a few adorable dresses that I hope to get posted before we take off.

Get the details here.

Lastly, here is a little bit of what’s been inspiring me lately.

A read:

Especially Bananafish and Esme.

A flick:

Chocolat (1988) This film was both lush and powerful! Set in Cameroon in the 1950s.

A space:

From Design*Sponge’s best offices.

Again, hit me up with your Seattle/Washington tips and have a lovely rest of the weekend!
